I am an EU-qualified lawyer with a strong academic background in law (LL.B. from DUTh, First in Class, LL.M. from NKUA in Corporate Law and Finance, Hons). Further to my legal studies, I have a solid foundation in Information Technology (BSc, MSc) with prior active involvement in software development.
Over the years, I have gained significant experience advising top-tier international financial institutions, including credit institutions, investment firms, fund managers and payment institutions, on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters, as well as on strategic planning. With particular experience in financial regulation, banking law, capital markets law and corporate compliance, I have worked extensively with key EU frameworks such as CRD V, MiFID II, UCITS, SFTR, CSDR, PSD II, AMLD, CSRD, IDD, Prospectus Regulation, Transparency Directive, Solvency II, BRRD II, DGSD, DORA, GDPR, EUTMR, SRMR, NIS II and MiCA.
I regularly advise on the establishment and cross-border operation of regulated entities, guiding them through licensing processes, supervisory interactions, and complex compliance challenges under both Freedom of Establishment (FoE) and Freedom of Services (FoS) models. I also support multinational groups in expanding their footprint across the EU, ensuring seamless alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
Beyond financial regulation & banking law, my experience spans across civil law, corporate law, real estate, IT law, IP law, tax law and enforcement procedures with involvement in both advisory and transactional work. I have supported regulated entities in areas such as governance, investor protection, payment services, anti-money laundering compliance, and crypto-asset services, on both a litigation and extrajudicial level.
My hybrid academic background and work experience in Law, Finance & Technology allows me to better navigate this increasingly important intersection, and through this blog I aim to share relevant thoughts and insights.
